NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Fur Animal Rescue, formworldnet027y Fur the Love of Paws, needs help from the community to put on their annual soup fundraising event.

Fur Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization that helps care for cats and dogs in North Platte and surrounding areas. The services that the non-profit offers include rehabilitating cats and dogs, spay and neuter programs and emergency care.

Fur Animal Rescue Executive Director Jenn Milne said that they need 10 volunteers, which includes people making and serving the soup, people making desserts and people who are willing to do other tasks assigned. The fundraiser is Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at the D and N Event Center.

Milne said volunteers help bring the event to life, which will raise funds for the organization to keep operations going.

Milne said that the money raised goes directly to the organization. which will help cats and their owners in the community. Milne said a simple vet visit will cost families $305, and the services offered by the organization will help ease the financial burden on these households.

“This is a fundraiser that is vital to this organization, and our operations,” Milne said. “Without this fundraiser, we cannot operate our facility, our programs, and our rescue, so it’s important. ”

People who are interested in volunteering will need to message Fur Animal Rescue Facebook page or text Fur Animal Rescue at 308-520-5528.
